I came in to work out with Deb not because I specifically wanted to lose weight, or gain muscle, or look better. But because the consequence of lack of activity combined with wrong thinking had caused me to be in pain most of my day. And I expected her to say “Okay, well, you’re carrying too much weight, you need to increase cardio, you’re eating the wrong things, and put the fork down earlier, girlfriend.” But instead, she directed me to the wall to do a standing windmill. Then I got down on the floor to do a bilateral frog. That day, I still had some pain, but I came home and spent 10 minutes on my new moves, and it was gone. So right off the bat, I knew how to release the pain. On day one….
Weight loss and increased muscle will come. In fact it’s all much better. But more importantly, I’m learning how my body has been compensating for years, and the negative impact of that. Her encouragement, knowledge of anatomy, cause and effect, and positivity have been a game changer for me. I am so excited to keep moving forward. And I know I will!

I have long felt that my body needed to be re-aligned! Scoliosis, back surgery and foot drop all had taken a toll on my body. I never realized that re-educating my muscles was possible and could bring my posture back to upright. Thanks to Debra Knapp I am slowly returning to a comfortable stance.
Deb is a patient, empathetic trainer who truly understands the skeleton of the body and how is is designed to work. She is able to coax muscles to perform to their maximum efficiency. I now have hope that one day I will be pain-free!

I hired Deb to help get strong again. Simple things hurt to do. My posture was bad. Deb has the most amazing understanding of the human body and every once in awhile I would have pain in my knee or my hip. She would have me do a specific exercise and voila – fixed! She incorporated lots of Pilates inspired training which was a great complement to the strength training. She really helped me.

My husband and I have been working with Deb for the last year and her help in understanding how our muscles, tendons, joints etc. work has been eye opening for us. Learning how to move correctly has given us greater mobility, strength and balance. She has taught us that her stretching exercises are a way of life for healing and well being. She has helped us to become more flexible and that helps us in every kind of work or play that we want to do. I always thought that I could move well, but she has taught me that though I was moving, I was making myself do it by compensating for my weakness with other techniques that didn’t really make me stronger. I appreciate her so much.

I have been working with Deb for just about a year and I love my results. She not only listens to my words but she reads my body. Utilizing her techniques my body is stronger and becoming more pain free than ever before.

I just wanted to take a moment and tell you thank you once again, for all the things you have done for me over these many years!
It is because of you that my fused neck and fused lower back still have a high degree of movement and functionality. My posture remains straight and balanced, as does my walking style.
It is through your regimentation that I have been able to achieve all of these things! Muscle education and RE-education has firmed up the muscles around my waist, my hips and my thighs, did make it possible for me to sleep better at night and without pain.
Thank you for all that you have done Deb, and God bless you.

Hi! I’m writing today to spread the message that you don’t have to live in pain. I’m almost 62. I was having terrible pain in my hips and I have non- diabetic neuropathy ( of unknown origin). After talking with another patient of Debra, my wife and I decided to skeptically give it a try. My wife retired 1 1/2 years ago. Her pain was a consent 8-10 everyday. After she retired she literally sat down and did little else most days. Mine was getting to be almost unmanageable 6-8. I’m a truck drive, so hips and feet are a big asset. I was off all winter and Just the thought of the pain I was going to go back to, had me worried. Deb has taught us exercises that have corrected our posture and strengthened us in weak areas. My first day back I worked 13 1/2 hours 63 hours the first week!!!!! WOW I was shocked. Little to none of the pain I have experienced in the past. I tell Deb I came in 5’8″ and walked out 5’10”. I do my exercise routine everyday to keep that pain from coming back. Our last vacations have been more our less old fooggie vacations. I’m looking at more adventurous trips in our future. We can walk now!

My name is Kem. I am a very mobile and agile woman of 70 years.
So you can imagine my surprise when I tripped over my own feet running to catch a plane in Denver, Colorado. By God’s blessing I was in Indianapolis, Indiana 3 and 1/2 Weeks later when I felt impressed to go see Deb Knapp.
At the time of the appointment I was walking as if I were 85 protecting my painful left shoulder and over compensating with my right. After thoughtful observation Deb not only pointed out the above observations, she also found the exact muscle that was so tense and drew me into that awkward state. Within minutes had me standing up straight with shoulders back. She pointed out to me exactly which muscle was causing me to experience so much pain and misalign my entire body.. After working with the exercises she’s given me the pain has decreased 80% and the mobility increased by 90%.
Deb gave me so much confidence, knowledge and understanding of how to overcome the trauma in my body.
I have a firm belief that had I not seen Deb and gotten her diagnosis and exercises, I would have continued to cripple my body for the rest of my life.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more about this gifted body mechanics woman.

I have known Deb for several years and admire her passion to help people overcome body pain with her god-given wisdom of the human anatomy along with the causes and remedies for its pain. I have used her book, power over pain, to heal pain in my body several times and it has always worked quickly. I even called her once when I fell off a ladder and my entire right side was in pain. By following her instructions on what stretches in the book to use, I still had bruises, but my joints and muscle pain were eliminated with in 30 minutes. I am a firm believer in her expertise.

I was an avid runner in my 20s and 30s. I was conscientious about being equipped with the proper footwear, but constant running on crowned roads and less than aggressive stretching began to take its toll on me. Over the years the street pounding coupled with decades of desk-sitting led to wear and tear. Hanging up the running shoes gradually allowed the muscles to tighten. Back pain was tolerable and could be relieved with R&R and routine stretches.
As the years passed pain throughout my feet (esp. the right) became intolerable. The tightness in the tendons could be described as frozen taffy that refused to thaw and thereby loosen itself. All my attention was drawn to plantar fasciitis being the culprit of my pain. I performed all the prescribed stretches with no signs of relief. Eventually the tightness led to tingling and numbness.
After unnecessary surgery for tarsal tunnel syndrome I sought out massage therapy for occasional short-term relief. One therapist directed me to Deb Knapp. Deb’s approach, from a realignment perspective, has given me a greater awareness and appreciation for how all my muscles are interdependent upon each other. Even though doctors, surgeons, and therapists are incredibly knowledgeable on muscle anatomy they could not identify the immediate source of the pain as well as Deb.
Deb started me on a multitude of simple stretches and exercises that would seem “foreign” in the medical world. Not only does she put you on a regimen of exercises that lead to future relief, but she also pinpoints what muscle needs the most attention to counter the pain you are experiencing. You almost have the perception that she can see has X-ray vision that examines your muscular condition as you attempt to perform any give exercise. Her inane sense0f pinpointing the source (in my case the ITB band in my hip) has given me relief and hope that few others were able to provide.

I am a physical therapist referred to Deb by a certified health professional. I had an MRI showing a very large protrusion of the L3-4 disc on the right side which was pushing on the nerve. The pain was at a very high requiring me to stop and wait for it to go away or lie down to get the pressure off the nerve. I was limping on the right with a bent over posture, and was unable to take a full step on the right due to the pain in the back. I even had to go on work leave because of the condition and I have surgery scheduled to remove the disc. I have been going to Deb for about a month I have been very impressed with her assessment of the walking and the muscles in the back and hips.
As a therapist I deal with these patient issues on a daily basis and I feel Deb has a real talent for identifying problems and offering solutions. I was surprised to find I had weakness in my hips and back as well as flexibility issues (by the way, I am about 5’6” and 120lbs and exercised 3-4 times a week before this situation arose- basically in very good shape). Since following Debs exercise program my pain has decreased substantially . I am able to stand upright and take a full stride on the right. I can full weight bear on the right side. I still have numbness and the pain increases with increased time on the leg. My flexibility has improved but I still have some work in this area. Overall I think Deb has done an excellent job of analyzing the problem, identifying specific exercises to solve the issue and then adjusting the program each visit to help with progression. I am hopeful that I will not need surgery but even if I do I know my recovery with be much enhanced because of my work with Deb.
She has a real gift. I thank God for helping me find her.

I have lived with back pain for 20 years and have tried everything but surgery. After working with Deb Knapp for several weeks I began to see improvement in my back problems and am now pain free! We are continuing working now of building strength and stabilization and I’m continuing to improve week by week. Deb has a true gift of understanding how the body works and how to bring things back into balance and get muscles working as they were designed to work.

Deb has been working with me over five years. She has helped minimize my plantar fasciitis. I am able to run and walk. Her exercises have improved my posture and overall level of fitness.

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis in my hip. I had to give up playing tennis and running, and could not walk normally because of the bone deformities the arthritis caused. By working out with Deb Knapp for several months, using both strength training and Egoscue, I went into total hip replacement surgery in the best possible shape. I had an amazingly fast recovery, walking in a couple of days, driving in a couple of weeks, and back at work in 5 weeks. During my recovery, I continued to work with Deb and she helped me to regain a normal walking gait and build up the atrophied muscles. I was back to “better than normal” in just a couple of months. I continue to see Deb for periodic posture, balance & strength workouts and value her guidance and expertise.

I have fibromyalgia, a condition that produces deep muscle, bone and joint pain. In addition, I have osteoarthritis, stomach adhesions and have suffered injury from falls. It would be easy to give in to the pain but that is not my style.
My original trainer referred me to Deb because there were areas that she couldn’t address. Since training with Deb, I was making progress at a slow and steady rate. Some days I had more pain than others due to the nature of fibromyalgia and arthritis. Therefore, my pain level can be high on and off and in many different areas. After my first year with Deb we both started to notice my stamina was much better with the Egoscue stretching classes 1 or 2 times a week.
Mid Jan 2011 I started doing the shakes 1 or 2 times a day and then soon added the Qore products. My energy level is much higher, balance is better.

I first met Deb Knapp during the summer of 2010 and enrolled in her Egoscue stretching class once a week. Her guidance in postural re-alignment and pain management was so successful that I asked her to be my full time trainer. We started once a week and progressed to three times per week by December. At my baseline, I was out of shape, had chronic pain in my knees, shoulder, back and neck, and had daily headaches. My energy level was about 2-3/10 and I was starting to feel old.
In December, Deb taught me about Quality and proper supplementation products and I signed up for the Metabolic part of the program. My overall goal was to increase my fitness and start lifestyle eating. Losing weight was and is a secondary goal.
During my first month on the fast burn products, I noticed a gradual increase of energy while exercising. I was not hungry substituting the two shakes for meals and my weight started to redistribute. Once I added the Qore components, I felt so much better than I had for years. I stopped having daily headaches, my energy and endurance increased 300%. I have lost a total of 7 inches and 4 lbs. I continue to see my weight redistributing. With Quality and proper supplementation’s total progam, I feel like I am 40 years old when in actuality I am 65. Quality and proper supplementation combined with my exercise program helps me to feel that I have unlimited potential. Retiring is not a consideration for me at this point. My quality of life has really improved significantly.

I have suffered with pain for years from scoliosis and a fused ankle joint. I have been working with Deb for 3 years now, taking her Egoscue classes weekly and planning to do so indefinitely. She has been very creative in adding her own exercises to the Egoscue method. My posture ,back pain, range of motion and gait have all improved tremendously (and my toes have uncurled). She is extremely knowledgable about the human body and how the inevitable injuries and dysfunctional habits of modern day life take their toll on all of us over the years. Deb knows how to re-educate the body and mind to improve our daily lives and just loves to share that with others.
At age 66, fighting Parkinson’s disease for 11years and two back surgeries in the last 2 years, my posture was awful. I was bent over and leaned to one side. I had numerous physical therapy sessions with not a lot of success. Everyone kind of took the attitude that this was the best that I could hope for and enjoy life the best I could. One day at a Parkinson support group I heard a speaker that is slowly, with a lot of work, is changing my life. Deb Knapp is slowly easing my chronic pain and giving me HOPE! She is supportive, knowledgeable, and optimistic that with hard work and following her instructions I can stand straight and ease my pain. I have been working with her for 6 weeks and can see and feel a difference. Thank you Deb!
